If you could find out what happens after you die, would you want to know?
Yes. That would be important information. Of course, the question presupposes that the answer is something we could understand, which I find unlikely. Nothing is lost in nature, but the reshuffling process is pretty radical. I think there's little chance that what we think of as the self (which is probably mostly a reductive illusion) could persist. The stuff that makes us what we are isn't going anywhere, but it's going to make other stuff that isn't us.
