Do you believe there is other intelligent life in distant galaxies? If no, why not? If yes, do you believe this is something to be feared and avoided or actively sought out?
Depends on what you mean by intelligent life. It could be so different from us that we would have no way to recognize it as alive or conscious.
Rather than looking farther away, we might need to think in terms of scale. It's possible that the galaxy itself is alive. Or galaxies could be the neural webbing of some super organism. The process could continue infinitely , with each universe forming the equivalent of a subatomic particle in another universe. And those universes could play by very different rules than the ones we think we know.
I also think it's almost certain that other life on this planet is far more conscious than we think it is, including cellular organisms and possibly plants.
